CHIPS ASHFORD COUNTS COST OF RAID

CHIPS Ashford is today counting the cost after raiders stole thousands of pounds worth of video games consoles and software, including the new must-have PSP, in a daring early-morning raid just TEN days after the store first opened.

Now owners Chris Muckell and Stuart McNeill are warning people to be extra vigilant and make a report to the police if they are offered consoles or software cheaply

Thieves struck in the early hours of today ( Tuesday) by throwing a kitchen sink through one of the store’s windows and smashing their way into the 2 Chapel Mews shop in Ashford.

Amongst the items snatched were five Giga Pack PSPs; two of the new Gameboy Micros and a Nintendo DS, along with three Xbox and three Playstation 2 machines.

Franchisee of CHIPS Ashford Chris Muckell said: “If anyone is offered any of the machines stolen I would urge them to contact the police.”

CHIPS Ashford opened on December 16, 2005, and this is Chris and Stuart’s first business venture together.

CHIPS Ashford is a franchise and each CHIPS store buys, sells and trades new and second-hand consoles, games, DVDs and accessories for all the major consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox, GameCube, GameBoy Advance and the Nokia N-gage.

There is also a wide range of second-hand retro games for earlier Sega and Nintendo consoles.
