AFTER just four months in his new job, Hereford store manager Richard Pascoe has scooped a top awards for all his hard work.
For the 35-year-old has just been named as CHIPS Employee of the Year 2008 at its annual award ceremony.
Richard joined the national video games chain at the end of June and his drive and enthusiasm has made a huge impression not only the store, but his bosses too.
Winning the prestigious trophy, store plaque and £250 prize money at the CHIPS Conference was a huge shock for Richard, who works in the town’s Commercial Road store, alongside Dean Lerigo and Lee Powell.
“Having joined CHIPS in the summer I never thought in a million years I would have won this and it is a great honour,” said Richard, who lives in Hereford.
“We have all worked really hard to make the Hereford CHIPS store a success and it is great to have that recognized so quickly.”

The Employee of the Year Award is made to the staff member who “goes the extra mile” for the benefit of the whole CHIPS network.
Nik Agar, Joint Managing Director of Chipsworld Ltd, said: “Since he joined us Richard has worked extremely hard, organizing fun days at the store to promote the launch of new games.
“He is full of drive and enthusiasm and has made a huge impact on the service CHIPS offers at Hereford. The impact he has made has been so swift it was easy to spot his influence and we were delighted to be able to reward his efforts so quickly.”
The award, sponsored by Microsoft’s Xbox 360, was presented to by Simon Bray, Microsoft UK Retail Business Manager.
There are more than 30 CHIPS stores across the UK, from Glasgow to the South Coast and all buy, sell and trade new and secondhand consoles, games and accessories.
