CHIPS Longton customers have helped big-hearted franchisee Stephen Osborne boost the coffers of a Stoke on Trent  hospice.

Stephen was so impressed with care given to his nan, Irene Osborne, in her final days at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, he decided he wanted to show his gratitude by raising funds for the charity.

Stephen offered customers posters in exchange for donations and many also handed over their change, raising a grand total of £112 in memory of Irene.
“Douglas Macmillan Hospice cared for my Nan and gave her dignity and comfort in 2006,” said Stephen.

”What is remarkable is that it provides 24-hour expert care and support purely from donations, it receives no funding from the Government or NHS.

“As I have seen first hand, the work it does is fantastic and I am delighted to help them as every penny counts.”
